Job Description

The Opportunity
 
A fantastic opportunity for a proactive and passionate person to join our Governance & Risk team in the role of HSE Partner. This role is a permanent full-time position based at our head office at Perth Airport and involves regular travel across our regional rail network.
 

As the HSE Partner you will proactively and collaboratively work with our stakeholders to prevent harm to our people, contractors and the environment. Working closely with the Regional teams this role has a large focus on HSE risk, compliance and assurance activities.  

 
The Role

You will lead by example and contribute to the advancement of a positive HSE culture including safeworking practices, environmental awareness and improved HSE maturity.

The key activities include:

  • Supporting and advising Managers, Leads and Supervisors to ensure the safe delivery of operational project activities.
  • Coaching, educating and mentoring team Leads, Supervisors and workers in the understanding and implementation of Arc’s safety management system.
  • Provides HSE guidance and advice on Network Safeworking Rules to Leads, Supervisors and third party services & contractors.
  • Leads, facilitates and conducts HSE and Rail Safety inspection and audit activities.
  • Assists with HSE incident investigations.
  • Participates in risk workshop and hazard assessment activities.
  • Actively contributes in the ongoing development, review, implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE management system.
  • Ensuring HSE communication and consultation processes such as pre-start briefs, toolbox talks and safety meetings are effectively implemented.
  • Contributing to the identification and management of operational HSE risks and hazards in collaboration with project teams.
  • Assuring front line risk management processes are implemented effectively.
  • Support the workers compensation & injury management processes providing workers with advice and guidance.
 
About You

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Diploma or higher in Occupational Health and Safety or demonstrated knowledge and experience sufficient to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying HSE knowledge and processes in a broad range of complex working environments.
  • Strong problem solving and business improvement focus.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a manner that builds trust and confidence of staff, encouraging all staff to be open and honest about operational inefficiencies and improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ‘C’ class drivers licence.
  • Previous experience in the rail industry is highly desirable.
