Job Description

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a qualified Electrician to join our Signalling Projects team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Project Signals Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out the safe, efficient, and effective installation of new signalling equipment and systems to a high degree to ensure rail safety standards are met.


The Role:

In this role you will be part of a team responsible for carrying out the installation of new signalling equipment across our metro and regional network. The role is offered on a Monday-to-Monday roster, 8 days on, 6 days off, based out of our Midland office.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Workshop works include factory pre-wire and testing of control and power frames in preparation for field installation of new signalling and electrical works as guided by the project scope.
  • Site works include but not limited to, civil works associated with the installation of a pit and pipe cabling system. Installation of control, power, and fibre cable. Installation of location cases, prewired frames, and associated site pre-wire. Installation of solar and backup generator power systems and removal of redundant signalling equipment and cable.
  • Participate in commissioning of the new power and signalling equipment, systems, and technology.
  • Prepare and complete appropriate documentation for maintenance records, logs, field data reports, analysis/evaluation reports and technical drawing amendments.
  • Participate in required training and maintain competency with developing technology in equipment, systems, specialist tools and instrumentation.

 About You

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Hold an unrestricted WA Electrical Workers License
  • Current WA Drivers License (HR licence preferred)
  • Flexibility to work away from home on a regular basis
  • Current Working at Heights
  • LVR/CPR Certificate
  • High Risk Licence (EWP)
  • White Card (Construction Card)
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol Test
