The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a proactive Risk Partner to join our Governance and Risk Team on a 12 month, fixed term contract.
The Role
The position is responsible for operational and project related risk management at all levels. This role is responsible for improving, innovating and applying best risk management practice to deliver high quality risk management to our stakeholders.
The key duties and responsibilities are;
- Working with Project Managers and Functional Leads to manage risk and embed processes to drive successful risk management across the business.
- Liaising with Business and Project Teams to facilitate and scribe risk workshops, including update / review of risk registers with a strong focus on controls and risk treatment plans.
- Coordinate meetings and briefings with key stakeholders and decision makers to oversee the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of risk governance and controls frameworks.
- Monitor, review and update risk assessments and work with the business to identify and address risks where controls are inadequate.
- Monitor current risk practices, systems, methods and implement appropriate improvements and changes where necessary.
- Liaise with and advise the Executive in matters of risk management, as well as escalate areas of concern when required to inform decision making.
- Support EMT and CMT and SME investigations as part of an organisational approach to response and recovery.
- Assist with the management of Incidents and Emergencies and support the Business Resilience Working Group (BRWG).
- Support assurance activities and contribute to the organisation’s understanding and oversight of risk and control effectiveness.
- Respond to risk issues across the organisation and as requested
- Support management, governance reporting and facilitation to governance committees
- Provide subject matter advice on risk management systems (CGR) and reporting.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have;
- ISO31000 Expertise: Strong knowledge of the ISO31000 Risk Management Standard and its application in risk management practices.
- Risk Management Experience: At least 3 years of experience in risk management, particularly in implementing and operating Risk Management Frameworks within the infrastructure or resource sectors and an understanding of the project delivery and HSE risks applicable to infrastructure projects.
- Workshop Facilitation & Analytical Skills: Proven ability to facilitate and scribe risk workshops and apply strong analytical skills to manage and assess risks.
- Building Trust & Communication: Demonstrated ability to operate in a way that builds trust across all staff levels, fostering open and honest communication.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent report writing skills
- Educational Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in business, accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
- Business Continuity Management: A qualification in business continuity management (BCM) or equivalent practical experience.
