Job Description

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Structures to assist in the management of our railway structures assets, lead our railway structures inspection program and develop strategies that ensure the long-term health of critical civil/structural infrastructure assets. The Role

As the Senior Engineer – Structures you will oversee the inspection regime and strategy for Arc Infrastructure’s railway structures. This includes leading a team of Structures Inspectors, designing and overseeing remedial works, and delivering technical leadership and innovation that supports our data-driven approach to asset performance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities are:

  • Lead structural condition inspections, assessment and evaluation of existing assets
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor a high-performing team of inspectors and junior engineers
  • Develop, implement and maintain asset management strategies, technical frameworks, standards, specifications and procedures
  • Ensure timely, accurate data is captured and integrated into monitoring systems to enable assets to be maintained to the required standards
  • Contribute to long-term asset management plans built on high-quality technical insight, underpinned by quality asset health and performance information by applying appropriate risk-based fundamentals and management of the asset inspection programme.
  • Champion innovation in inspection techniques, data collection, and performance analytics
  • Provide technical support to projects and collaborate across departments and disciplines
  • Oversee Third Party projects, external consultants and suppliers, including scope development, cost assessment and technical review for repair, upgrade or replacement of assets. Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes and regulations.
  • Represent Arc Infrastructure on relevant industry forums such as RISSB and ACRI
  • Be accountable for team performance, delivery, and alignment with business objectives
 
About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Independent and well-organised, with proficiency in the use of common software relevant to the roe (AutoCAD, Space Gass, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Skilled in project scoping, cost evaluation, and consultant coordination

Preferred Experience

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years in structural engineering and asset management within rail, road, or heavy industry
  • Experience working in operational railway environments and civil/drainage projects (highly desirable)
  • Membership or eligibility for Engineers Australia (Chartered desirable)
  • Proficiency in relevant design standards, legislation, and maintenance practices
  • Valid WA Driver’s Licence
