The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Mobile Plant Operator to join our Signalling Projects Team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Civil Leading Hand, you will be responsible for operating a variety of mobile plant machines in and around our rail network for the safe installation of Signalling Civil equipment.
The Role
In this role you will be part of a team responsible for carrying out the civil installation of wayside signalling equipment and mainline pit and pipe across our metro and regional network. The role is offered on a Monday-to-Monday roster, 8 days on, 6 days off, based out of our Midland Depot.
Key Responsibilities for the role include:
- Ability to operate a range of Excavators, Backhoes and skid steers.
- Ability to drive tool trucks, tip trucks and truck-trailer combos.
- Adhere to safety regulations, conducting pre-start inspections and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Material loading, unloading and transporting materials using machinery, often in conjunction with manual labour.
- Effectively communicating with supervisors, other team members, about work progress, issues, or safety concerns.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Demonstrated commitment to Arc HSE management system.
- Experience and certification in the operation and operational maintenance of the above plant (Excavator, Backhoe and Skidsteer).
- HR licence with the ability to acquire a HC licence, endorsed by Arc Infrastructure.
- Flexibility to work away from home on a regular basis.
- Pass a pre-employment medical, Drug & Alcohol Test and Police Clearance.
- Basic computer skills.
- First Aid and CPR certificate.
