The Opportunity
Our team based in Narngulu, are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to work as part of our team delivering rail maintenance on Arc Infrastructure's rail network. In the role of a Plant Operator you will be working in a skilled and experienced team undertaking critical maintenance works on the freight rail infrastructure throughout Geraldton and surrounds; making tasks safer, more efficient and less labour intensive by the use of mobile plant equipment.
The current roster is Monday to Friday with frequent working away from home (up to 60% of the year at differing intervals) plus some weekend work.
The role is based in Narngulu and we are looking for candidates that live in Geraldton (or surrounds). THIS IS NOT A FIFO / DIDO role.
The Role
As a Plant Operator you will be responsible for operating a variety of mobile plant machines in and around our network. Plant types include but are not limited to:
- Truck / trailer combos
- Excavator (tracked/wheeled and with rail guidance)
- Front end wheeled loaders
- Backhoes, skid steers, graders and rollers
- Road rail vehicles
- Rail Machinery
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Knowledge of rail infrastructure and safety principles
- Demonstrated ability to operate the above machinery
- HR licence with a view to obtain HC licence
- Basic computer skills
