The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Track Engineer to join our high performing Engineering team at the Perth Airport-based Head Office.
The Role
In this role you will use your analytical and problem-solving skills to support the Engineering team in the operation and maintenance of Arc Infrastructure assets by:
- Developing and maintaining technical requirements (policies, strategies, standards, specifications, procedures, etc.) related to track assets.
- Providing technical guidance and support to the Asset Management and Works Delivery teams on matters relating to track assets.
- Investigating technical track asset related issues and developing practical solutions based on sound engineering principles.
- Adopting innovative and industry best practice solutions relating to track engineering.
- Developing scopes of work and managing track engineering related projects and initiatives to be carried out by contractors, consultants or Arc’s internal teams.
- Assisting with incident investigations from a track engineering perspective.
- Assisting in ensuring the highest possible standard of safety, asset integrity, availability and reliability of equipment or system performance is achieved at all times.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10-12 years’ experience in railway track engineering across maintenance, renewal, investigation, standards development or technical governance functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineers or multidisciplinary technical work in an operational rail environment.
- Strong working knowledge of track engineering principles, track geometry, rail-wheel interface impacts, track materials, formation and drainage interfaces, and rail asset failure mechanisms.
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, engineering risk assessment and technical report writing.
- Sound knowledge of Arc or comparable Australian rail standards, relevant Australian Standards and industry practice.
- Comprehensive Knowledge of Interface requirements with Asset, Civil & Structures, Signal, Communications and Operations.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications for track design and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making processes.
- Current C Class driver’s licence.
