Job Description

The Opportunity
Arc Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Rail Signalling - Trainer and Assessor  to design, deliver and continuously improve high‑quality rail signalling training programs.

This critical role ensures our people and partners are safe, competent and confident working in rail signalling environments. You will bring deep technical expertise in signalling systems and a passion for developing others, playing a key role in maintaining our training standards and alignment with regulatory and industry requirements.

 
The Role
As the Rail Signalling - Trainer and Assessor  you will lead delivery of core signalling programs such as Basic Electrical Signalling and Signalling Fundamentals, and support the delivery of nationally recognised qualifications, including the Certificate IV in Rail Signalling, in partnership with North Metro TAFE.
 
The Key responsibilites are 

  • Deliver high‑quality training and assessment across classroom, workshop, simulation and workplace environments
  • Facilitate and assess courses including:
    • Basic Electrical Signalling (BES)Signalling Fundamentals,
    • Microlok and related non‑accredited programs
    • Certificate IV in Rail Signalling (in partnership with NM TAFE)
  • Assess learner competency in line with course requirements, organisational procedures and rail safety standards
  • Design, review and maintain technically accurate, industry‑aligned training and assessment materials
  • Analyse learner feedback and assessment outcomes to continuously improve training effectiveness
  • Provide specialist subject matter expertise on signalling systems, procedures and competency requirements
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure training meets operational needs
  • Promote and embed a strong safety culture in all training activities
  • Maintain technical and industry currency and support innovation in training deliver
About You

You are a signalling professional with a strong background in safety‑critical environments and a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into effective learning experiences.

You will bring:

  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or successor)
  • Significant experience in rail signalling systems and operations
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical or safety‑critical training
  • Rail experience (or similar field) with 10+ years of specialised expertise
  • Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level of autonomy, organisation and attention to detail
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, safety and professional development
