Job Description

The Opportunity
 
We are currently looking for a Civil & Structures Engineer to join our team based at our Perth Airport Head Office.
 
The Role
In this role the primary purposes are: 
  • Provide Engineering analysis, advice and solutions for effective management of civil / drainage assets, rail formation and earthworks
  • Provide Engineering analysis, advice and solutions for hydrological issues across network.
  • Provide Engineering support to the Major Projects during delivery phase.

Some of the responsibilities are:

  • Provide Engineering analysis, advice and solutions for effective management of civil drainage, rail formation and earthworks under direction of Principal / Senior Engineer by:
    • Developing and implementing standards related to all civil engineering and drainage for railways, including longitudinal and cross drainage and hydrology/hydraulic assessments
    • Developing and implementing appropriate inspection regime for all civil drainage assets and training field staff
    • Carrying out engineering analysis of existing civil assets and identify issues, categorise them based on risk matrix and provide solutions for high risk areas/issues.
    • Effective use of Arc GIS software, hydrological and hydraulic analysis software like GIS Hydro tools, RORB, DRAINS etc.
  • Assist Third Party Projects and Major project teams and carry out technical reviews and provide technical advice related to drainage / hydrology and other civil related issues.
  • Carry out Engineering inspections and testing as requested by Principal Engineer.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • 5 years+ Engineering and Asset management experience in Rail, Road or Heavy industry
  • Experience in Rail/road related earthworks, slope stability analysis, inspection and management
  • Experience in Hydrological analysis and Use of GIS for hydrological analysis (desirable)
  • Experience in an operational railway is preferred
  • Previous experience in similar role preferred.
  • Engineering Degree (Civil / Hydrology) is preferred
